Good morning everyone. I am in the process of finishing out a foreclosure, but have run into a problem with the overbid amount. This sale had an overbid of $488.36 which from my understanding should be returned to the original owners. The problem is that the original owners are deceased. Does anyone know where this amount should be sent?

You should next try to find next of kin or search for an estate for the deceased owners. Their heirs & successors can claim the funds. We will ask for the Letter of Testamentary if they went to probate court or for amounts under $66,000 we accept a small claims affidavit.
